COMPOSITION: Amoxicillin Trihydrate 812 mg/g (equivalent to 697 mg Amoxicillin)

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Water soluble powder for oral administration

PROPERTIES:

The active substance of the product MOXAVET®, amoxicillin, is a β-lactame antibiotic whose mechanism of action is based on the ability to inhibit the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad spectrum semi synthetic penicillin antibiotic, active against gram negative and gram positive bacteria

INDICATIONS:

MOXAVET® is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria susceptible to amoxicillin. It is indicated for infections of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory and urogenital system of pigs and broilers, as well as for secondary infections and complications associated with viral infections.

CONTRA INDICATIONS:

It should not be administered in cases of known hypersensitivity to penicillins and cephalosporins. It should not be administered to laying hens whose eggs are for human consumption.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:

Hypersensitivity reactions.

DOSAGE:

MOXAVET® is administered in drinking water

Depending on the infection severity, 1-2 gr of MOXAVET® per 100kg BW/day for 3-5 days are administered (correspond to 8-16mg amoxicillin trihydrate per Kg BW.) Due to the fact the amount of water consumed by young animals per kg BW is greater than the amount of water consumed by older animals, the above dosage corresponds to

Swine (0-6 months old): 10-20g MOXAVET® per 100 liters drinking water daily.

Swine (over 6 months old): 15-30g MOXAVET® per 100 liters drinking water daily.

Broilers: 6-12g MOXAVET® per 100 liters drinking water daily.

STORAGE-SHELF LIFE:

The original package should be stored well sealed in dry, dark place, at a temperature below 25° C. ts expiration date is 24 months from the production date, when it is stored under the proposed storage conditions. It should not be used after its expiration date has lapsed. Its shelf life after dissolution in water is 24 hours (15οC-25Cο).

PACKAGING:

The medicine is packaged in aluminum sachets with inner polyethylene liner of 250gr and 1000gr.
