AMOXICILLIN TRIHYDRATE-CLAVULANIC ACID

COMPOSITION:
Amoxicillin (trihydrate) 10%, Clavulanic acid (as potassium salt) 2.5%. 

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM:
Water soluble powder for oral administration.

PROPERTIES:
The product,  is a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Clavulanic acid is a β-lactamase inhibitor and forms stable and inactive complexes with the enzymes, thus protecting amoxicillin from degradation. 

INDICATIONS:
It  is administered for the treatment of swine and poultry diseases caused by bacteria susceptible to amoxicillin, such as respiratory and gastrointestinal tract infections, as well as skin and soft tissues infections.   

CONTRA INDICATIONS: 
Not to be administered to animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:
None known.

DOSAGE:
Swine:
The product is administered in pigs via drinking water, in a dose of 4 to 10 gr, per 100kg of body weight twice daily. In more severe infections, as loading dose the dose may be doubled. Treatment lasts for 2 to 5 days.
Poultry: The product is administered in poultry via drinking water, in a dose of 20gr per 100kg of body weight daily (100gr of Amoxicillin Trihydrate-Clavulanic acid, in 200L of water). Treatment lasts for 3 to5 days.

STORAGE-SHELF LIFE:
The product is stable for 24 months from the production date in its packaging.

PACKAGING:
Aluminum foil bags with inner polyethylene (PE) liner (200g, 500g and 1000g).
