COMPOSITION:
Oxolinic acid 50% w/w.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM:
Medicated premix.

PROPERTIES:
Oxolinic acid is a primary quinolone. Quinolones are synthetic bacteriocidal antibacterials that interfere in the DNA synthesis of sensitive bacteria. It is active especially against gram negative microorganisms.

INDICATIONS:
Fish*: For the control and therapy of furunculosis caused by Aeromonas salmonicida in fresh and sea water salmon. For the control and therapy of furunculosis caused by Aeromonas salmonicida in farmed rainbow trout, as well as for the therapy and control of red mouth disease (ERD) in rainbow trout caused by Yersinia ruckeri.

CONTRA INDICATIONS:
Not to be used in cases with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:
None known. In case of any serious undesirable effect, inform immediately your veterinarian. .

DOSAGE:
Fish*: The recommended dose is 10mg oxolinic acid per kg body weight daily. This dose is achieved by administering 20mg of the product

STORAGE-SHELF LIFE:
The original package should be stored well sealed in dry, dark place, at a temperature below 25° C. When used in the pelleted form, the mixture may be subjected to steam for 5 minutes and peletted at temperatures that reach the center of the feed of 70oC. If subjected to the above conditions, product can remain stable in the final feed for 3 months. When the product is mixed in feed before administration, it should be consumed immediately and not be stored.

PACKAGING:
1. Paper boxes with 8 polyethylene (PE) sachets, 2 kg each.
2. Paper sacks with inner polyethylene (PE) lining, 25 kg.
