CHLORTETRACYCLINE HCl 10% VETHELLAS

COMPOSITION:100 mg Chlortetracycline Hydrochloride per g of the premix Vetcycline.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Medicated premix.

PROPERTIES:
Chlortetracycline is a natural broad spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline group. Its activity is bacteriostatic by interfering with the protein synthesis at the 30S ribosome sub-unit. Chlortetracycline is active against many Gram positive and Gram negative microorganisms (Pasteurella, Escherichia, Salmonella, Haemophilus, Coccus etc.), but not against Proteus as well as viruses and fungi.

INDICATIONS:
Vetcycline is administered in swine and bovine for the treatment of pasteurellosis, colibacilosis, salmonellosis, broncho-pneumonia and gastrointestinal colitis caused by bacteria. In broilers, it is administered for the treatment of colibacilosis and salmonellosis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
The product should not be used in animals with known hypersensitivity to tetracycline antibiotics, as well as in animals with serious kidney and liver problems. Vetcycline should not be administered also to animals with scar digestion and to laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:
When dosed according to instructions, Vetcycline usually does not cause side effects and complications. In case of allergic reaction, stop the administration of the medicine and if necessary use antihistamines

DOSAGE:
Vetcycline is administered orally, twice a day, mixed in feed according to the following dosage scheme:

- Swine: 4 Kg Vetcycline per 1 ΤΝ of feed for 5 – 7 days

- Bovine: 0,2 g. Vetcycline (20 mg Chlortetracycline) per 1 Kg B.W for 5 – 7 days

- Broilers: 4 Kg Vetcycline per 1 ΤΝ of feed for 5 – 7 days

During therapy, animals should eat only feed containing the medicated premix.

STORAGE-SHELF LIFE:
The original package should be stored well sealed in dry, dark place, at a temperature below 25° C. Under these conditions, it remains stable for 2 years after the production date.
